What is the difference between a free estimate and a consultation?
With LTS, a free estimate is provided by an ISA Certified Arborist and can be done on site or in some rare cases through photos. On site visits typically last no more than 30 minutes and a written estimate will be provided to you for the services you have requested. This is ideal for the customer who knows what type of service they would like us to perform (i.e. pruning, tree removal, stump grinding, spraying...).
If you are unsure of your tree care needs, we would be happy to provide you with a consultation. An ISA Certified Arborist will meet with you on site to assess your needs and answer your questions. Your consulting arborist can evaluate tree health and structure, diagnose disease and insect problems, determine potential tree risks and hazards, recommend a plant health care maintenance program, as well as, give planting advice and recommendations. These appointments typically last one hour on site and result in a detailed written report, with an estimate, if appropriate, on your tree and landscape needs. Prices can vary depending on scope but typically are $100 for the average homeowner, a price well worth the knowledge you will gain.
